Want a slushy with a bolder flavor and more of a kick to it? Try this lemon ginger spiced slushy. Our 11-year-old daughter literally said, "It's to die for and not too spicy." Share it with your guests after a BBQ on a hot summer day for something light and surprising.
ice cream maker (We use the Gelateria from Cusinart, ICE-70 series.)
Ingredients
3/4tbspginger with peel(We keep the peel on.)
1 & 1/2lemonpeeled (Don't worry about the seeds too much.)
1tbsplemon rindroughly chopped
1/2cuphoney
4cupswater
Do not blend the ingredients below.
1/2tspgrated ginger
1/4tsp lemon zest We like to use a microplane.
Instructions
Blend first 5 ingredients in a high-powered blender until steaming (about 3-5 minutes.) It does not have to be hot.
Put grated ginger and lemon zest in the blended mixture, but Do Not blend.
Place the mixture in an ice cream maker. We us the gelato button on our Cuisinart Gelateria. Churn for about 15-20 minutes, depending on your desired consistency. Enjoy!
